Bright and early this morning I got to meet and photograph brand spanking new little Elijah and his rather tired parents. This little one had kept his mum and dad up the whole night…but luckily for me he slept through our entire session!! Im keeping my fingers crossed that he continued sleeping after I left so that some rest could be had! I was really looking forward to this session as he is the youngest baby boy I have photographed! Most boys Ive had have been about 4 weeks old. I was delighted to find that Dad was heavily tattooed so just had to get some of Elijah in his arms, I just love the contrast of the tattoos with the sweet snuggliness of a brand new baby!

Today I got to meet and photograph little Campbell. He was so bright and alert and watched me like a hawk…that is until Mum pulled out the hairdryer and he promptly drifted off to sleep!! I think a hairdryer may have to be added to my newborn kit, I couldn’t believe how quickly it sent him off to sleep!

Yesterday evening I got to meet and photograph 12 week old Jamie! What a handsome little fellow! He was the perfect little model without even a single whimper from him through the whole session. I got to try out a few new additions to my ‘prop’ suitcase…Got to say Im loving my new stripey blanket, nice and masculine but cute at the same time! I dont think Jamie was too amused with the hat however…

I am a member of the Society of Wedding & Portrait Photographers where each month there is an image competition. The standard is very high and it certainly sparks the competitive side of my fellow photographers! I have only been entering for a few months and have had some success with a few silvers and a bunch of bronzes. To my sheer delight I accomplished my goal of winning a GOLD award this month with one of my favourite photographs I have ever taken! This is a shot of the gorgeous Lily, who was around 15 days old in this photograph.
