Bumps Babies Beyond | Family Photography by Nicola Hutchison
As a Family photographer i know it is vital to make clients as comfortable and relaxed as possible during their professional portrait sessions, and usually it takes a little coaxing for a child to come out of their shells. However for the son of the ‘A’ family this was not an issue, this little boy could talk until your ears fell off and would probably continue talking until said ears grew legs and ran away… ![]()
‘A’ is extremely clever and has a superb imagination so his constant chatter proved to be a lot of fun and certainly kept me entertained throughout the photoshoot! I can’t wait to meet him again!
I must make a specific mention for Mrs ‘A’ who looked amazing in her stunning colourful traditional dresses! And despite Mr ‘A’s best efforts to escape the camera we managed to get some lovely portraits! Here is a sneak preview from the portrait session with more to follow soon!

As a child and family photographer I know just how hard it can be getting children to stay still for the camera…what can I say? I enjoy the challenge ;o).
However…when it comes to photographing my own children, it is near impossible, they know all my tricks!
It would seem the millionth try would do the trick and today I finally got one of my girls (aged 2 & 1) together that they are both smiling (sort of) in!!
so here are my beautiful Scottish bairns…. otherwise known as Allanah & Marlie. I think I finally have a portrait of them together to put on my wall!

As a child photographer I know how difficult it can be to get young children to stay still for more than 2 seconds at a time so photographing a baby is iressistable. So here we have yet another photograph of the lovely Andrew, I cant resist photographing him every time I see him, I suppose I should enjoy it while he still stays still and can’t run away from me like my own children!

Family Photography – jam donuts and screaming babies…. oh and a stressed mummy!
Monday, July 27th, 2009Bumps Babies Beyond| Family Photography by Nicola Hutchison
I had a follow-up photography session today at the Angus home of baby Andrew who I have previously photographed as a newborn! He is now six weeks old and extremely alert…..and possibly a little demanding on his poor mummy and daddy! He is beginning to look very like his big brother Nathan who I have also photographed many times. Right now Nathan dotes on his baby brother, is very protective and loves being around him. Here are a few of my fave portraits from the session, including one that kept me giggling for hours. As a family photgrapher in Angus I understand that often children can be a little un-cooperative when it comes to taking photographs, so luckily I had a jam donut handy….unfortunatly showing Nathan the donut resulted in the crying family portrait….which then resulted in the jam smeared face that made for some cute candid photographs!
